I kept guessing my AI infrastructure costs. So I built 21 calculators to stop doing that.
Every time I started a new project, I ended up in the same place: a half-broken Excel spreadsheet trying to figure out if what I was building was financially viable.
Not "will this business succeed" viability. Just basic math. How much will this RAG pipeline cost per month at 10,000 queries? If I add 4K upscaling to my Runway Gen-3 workflow, what does that actually do to my credit burn? If my SaaS is spending $15k/month and making $5k in MRR, how many months do I have?
These aren't complicated questions. But the answers were always scattered. Runway's pricing page doesn't tell you what 30 videos/month at 10 seconds each costs in dollars. OpenAI's token calculator doesn't factor in the context injection overhead from your vector database retrieval. Nobody puts these things together.
So I built ByteCalculators — 21 free calculators in one place.

Why vanilla JS and no framework
Each calculator runs on vanilla JavaScript inside a Shadow DOM container. No React, no Next.js, no build step.
The reason: I wanted them to load instantly. There's nothing more frustrating than opening a "simple calculator" and waiting 3 seconds for a JS bundle to hydrate. These open in under 300ms on a slow connection.
The tradeoff is that price updates are manual. When Runway changes their credit pricing, I update the number directly in the code. To make this visible, each calculator shows a "Rates Verified: [Month Year]" badge so users know when to come back and recheck.
